The size is 6x6, which I know is not the traditional size. I did try the 3.5x3.5 size and had a hard time with it, so I used this size for my first one. I've ordered some tiles that I'm excited to receive sometime this week. For now, I just measured out a 6x6 space. It was drawn/colored using Sakura Micron pens and Prismacolor markers.
What I love about this art form is that aside from the creative expression, I am learning to allow and appreciate imperfection! No pencil lines, no erasers... you have no idea how hard that is for me! Then again, perhaps you do. :)
My inspiration to do this came after spending a few weeks exploring some Diva Weekly Challenges . This week's challenge is stripes, and this is my first submission. It was really a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to the next one.
Well I for one love it!! Great first tile and look forward to seeing more. Linda x
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteFor a first submission this is a great tile. I like the colors you used and the way you drew the string on the right side. Well done!!
ReplyDeletelovely use of colour and repetition. I like the little dangles.
ReplyDeleteNicely done! The red is a beautiful addition. I love your flowers. Can you deconstruct them for us or are they already a named pattern I don't know (certainly There are many I don't know)? Plus - your Dangles are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThank you Antonine. I just posted the pattern for the flowers. As far as I know it's not a named pattern. It was just something I came up with based on tulips I used to paint.
DeleteVery nice tile. I also love the background colors of your blog!
ReplyDeleteYour tile is beautiful! Glad you join into the Challenge.
